Now is the time to secure your postal or proxy vote

Carla Lockhart MP • April 18, 2023

DUP MP Carla Lockhart has urged constituents to secure their vote for the upcoming Council elections, by ensuring they are registered to vote and have a postal or proxy vote secured, if unable to vote in person on 18 May.

The Upper Bann representative said:

“The DUP team going before the electorate is strong and determined, and a vote for your local DUP candidate will ensure an effective voice for Unionism is returned to the Council chamber.

It is vital that people turn out to vote. To do so, I would strongly encourage people to ensure they are on the electoral register. This can be completed until midnight on 28 April. Furthermore, if for any reason you are unable to attend a polling station in person, now is the time to secure a postal or proxy vote. The deadline for this option is 5pm on 26 April. Finally, if you require photographic ID for the polling station, you can apply for an electoral ID card until 5 May.

My office is here to help with these applications so please do get in touch to obtain forms or for help in completing applications.

A vote for the DUP on 18 May will ensure Unionism remains strong on ABC Council, against an expected increase in Sinn Fein Councillors. Staying at home, or losing your vote, only helps those who want Unionism to be weaker. Act now to secure your vote.”
