Carla Lockhart MP recently met with the Head of Neighbourhood Policing in Banbridge, Inspector Kieran Quinn to discuss a range of pressing issues concerning policing and community safety in the town The meeting covered various topics, including a recent shooting incident, the closure of the enquiry station in Banbridge, anti-social behaviour, resource allocation, and broader policing strategies for the town and local areas.

Carla Lockhart MP, Member of Parliament for Upper Bann, has set out her profound regret over the passage of the recent Alliance Party motion at Stormont, calling for compulsory and standardised Relationship and Sexuality Education (RSE) in schools in Northern Ireland.The non-binding motion was passed, however the DUP led the opposition to the motion with all DUP MLAs voting no.

The start of this project the week commencing 29th April 2024 comes on the back of over 7 years of lobbying and working with the Department for Infrastructure for the whole of Birchwood Park to be brought up to adoption standards.

Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart has said banks are exiting our towns wholesale and is a big blow to staff, customers and the town centre as a whole. Halifax in Portadown was significantly damaged in recent months, by fire, in a suspected arson attack. It caused immediate closure with the shutters having remained firmly shut since February. Community Banking has been set up in the Town Hall and help with vulnerable customers has been prioritised.

On Wednesday the previous Commissioner for Victims and Survivors in Northern Ireland advised MPs that comments made by the First Minister Michelle O’Neill following the publication of the Operation Kenova Interim Report would not be considered an apology international law.
