Boulevard a success story for all

Carla Lockhart MP • April 18, 2023

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has met with Chris Nelms, Manager of The Boulevard in Banbridge, to discuss the ongoing development of the site and to express gratitude for addressing accessibility concerns raised by constituents.

Speaking after the meeting, Carla Lockhart said:

“The Boulevard has been transformed in recent years, and Chris and his leadership team are to be commended for driving forward positive change and really making The Boulevard a shopping destination for people from right across the country.

Recently a number of constituents had contacted me with some suggestions on improving accessibility for those with mobility issues and disabilities. I must pay tribute to Chris, who acted swiftly to implement these changes to ensure everyone visiting The Boulevard can have an enjoyable time.

The ongoing success of the centre has a knock on impact on the wider Banbridge area, and it is encouraging that visitors who are coming to Banbridge are being seen to visit both the town centre and The Boulevard complex. The mix of leading UK names and wonderful independent retailers in Banbridge is driving success in the area and I hope that this will continue. Chris has confirmed that further stores will soon be announced and this will only add to the choice in the local area.

Banbridge has a lot to offer, and it is vital that the Council offer marketing support to highlight the retail, hospitality and leisure package on offer here. As a Party we are engaging with ABC Council officers to see such investment, and will continue to champion the needs of the Banbridge area.”
