Lockhart congratulates Waringstown Neighbourhood Watch on 20 years of community service
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has paid tribute to Waringstown Neighbourhood Watch as the organisation marked its 20th anniversary, praising its volunteers for two decades of dedication to keeping the village safe.

Mrs Lockhart joined members, past and present, to celebrate the milestone and was honoured to address the gathering, reflecting on the group’s achievements since its formation.
Mrs Lockhart said:
“It was a privilege to join Waringstown Neighbourhood Watch as it celebrated 20 years of outstanding service to the local community.
What began through the vision and dedication of three individuals – Dougie Barr, Melvyn Hamilton and Sandra Ledlie – has grown into a highly respected organisation that has made a real difference to life in Waringstown.
Over the past two decades, the group has built a strong partnership between local residents and the Police Service of Northern Ireland, helping to promote community safety, encourage vigilance and foster a real sense of shared responsibility.
Their success is a testament to the commitment of the many volunteers who have given their time and energy over the years. Communities are at their strongest when people are willing to step forward and play an active role, and Waringstown Neighbourhood Watch is an excellent example of that in action.
I want to congratulate everyone who has been involved with the organisation, both past and present, on reaching this significant milestone. Their contribution to Waringstown has been invaluable, and I wish them every success as they continue their important work for many years to come.
I would also encourage anyone who is interested in supporting their local community to consider getting involved. New volunteers will always receive a warm welcome, and together we can continue to make Waringstown a safe and welcoming place to live.”
