Lockhart Praises Banbridge Volunteers Supporting the Poppy Appeal
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has praised the dedication of local volunteers supporting this year’s Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in Banbridge, and joined with the community on Sunday to honour the fallen at the town’s Remembrance Service.

Speaking after meeting with the volunteers during the week and attending the service, Carla Lockhart MP said:
“It was lovely to meet the Banbridge volunteers who were out in Tesco collecting for this year’s Poppy Appeal. It is wonderful to see so many people showing their support, and great to hear that volunteer numbers are up this year. The poppy is such a powerful symbol of remembrance and gratitude for all those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom.
I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who gives so generously, and to all the volunteers who give of their time to make the Poppy Appeal such a success every year. Their dedication is deeply appreciated.
On Sunday, it was an honour to join with the Banbridge community at the War Memorial to remember the fallen of our area. The turnout was incredible, and the sense of respect and gratitude was felt by all present. We owe so much to those who gave their lives in defence of our nation, and it is right that we continue to honour them, not just on Remembrance Sunday, but every day.”
