Carla Lockhart MP Praises Community Spirit During Busy Saturday in Upper Bann

Carla Lockhart MP • October 22, 2025

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has paid tribute to the strong sense of community across the area following a busy Saturday spent visiting local events in support of two fantastic causes.

Speaking after a morning of engagements, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“It was another wonderful Saturday in Upper Bann, beginning with the Kingshill LOL 319 Big Breakfast at Kingshill Orange Hall near Waringstown. As always, there was a fantastic turnout, a very warm welcome, and you simply can’t beat that fry-up! Well done to everyone involved in organising such a great community event, it’s a real highlight for many and a testament to the fellowship that exists within the local lodge.”

“From there, I travelled over to Gibson’s Hill Orange Hall for a Coffee Morning in support of David Larmour, organised by the Apprentice Boys of Derry Corcreeney Baker Club. Many people will know the Larmour family from Lurgan, and David is bravely battling serious illness. It was heartening to see so many people come together to show their love and support for him and his family. That’s the very best of community spirit in action.”

“I want to commend everyone who helped organise both events, from the cooks and servers to those who donated and attended. This is what makes Upper Bann such a special place, people looking out for one another, standing together, and showing real compassion and solidarity..”

Carla Lockhart was joined at the events by Councillor Tim McClelland, with both praising the community for its generosity and engagement.
