Lockhart Welcomes Installation of New Grit Bin at Linen Green in Waringstown
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has welcomed the installation of a new grit bin at the entrance to Linen Green in Waringstown, following a lengthy process to have the development formally adopted.

Speaking after confirmation of the installation, Carla Lockhart MP said:
“I am very pleased that the grit bin has now been installed at Linen Green. This is an issue that was first brought to my attention around two to three years ago when the development was newly occupied. Since then, it has been a mammoth task working through all the adoption processes, but persistence has paid off and residents now have this much-needed facility in place ahead of the winter months.
A grit bin may seem like a small addition, but for residents living on gradients or areas prone to icy conditions, it makes a real difference to safety and peace of mind. I want to thank DfI Roads for working constructively with me and my office team to secure this positive outcome for the community.”
Mrs Lockhart also encouraged other residents who may need assistance with grit bin issues to get in touch.
“If your grit bin needs refilled, or if you believe your area warrants an assessment for a new grit bin, please contact my office. There is a set criteria in place and much of the decision depends on road gradient, but I am always happy to assist where I can.
I am delighted that the residents of Linen Green now have this essential provision as we move into the colder months.”
