Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has joined with Royal Mail employees in Banbridge to see first-hand the huge operation involved in making sure Christmas deliveries are made to local households. She will be visiting Craigavon sorting office in the coming days.

Carla Lockhart said:

“Royal Mail offer a wonderful service all year round, but this is particularly evident at Christmas when thousands of cards, letters and parcels make their way to households locally, but also to destinations across the UK and beyond.

The logistical effort involved in moving all this mail is significant. It is also taking a huge effort by all the staff at sorting offices, and on the doorsteps of local homes. Come rain, wind, or snow this work is completed effectively and efficiently. If we all took a second to think what it would be like without the service provided by Royal Mail, we will all appreciate it ever more what they do.

It was great to meet with staff here at Banbridge. I always enjoy this annual drop in to meet with the team here and wish each member of the Royal Mail team here safety for the busy period in the coming weeks.”
