Carla Lockhart MP • March 12, 2024

DUP MP, Carla Lockhart has again been out and about in Upper Bann supporting the local community at several events aimed at fundraising for charity and local organisations.

Speaking following a busy Saturday Carla Lockhart MP said, “I always enjoy meeting constituents in a relaxed setting and Saturday was certainly a full day of engagement.

First stop was 1st Bluestone Boys' Brigade, Big Fry Up in Bluestone Methodist Church. Aimed at raising funds for the BB it was a pleasure to join with the volunteers and supporters of the BB in Bluestone. Thanks to the team for a great breakfast and as always great fellowship.

Then over to 1st Banbridge Boys Brigade Coffee morning in Scarva Street Presbyterian Church. What an amazing turn out of people supporting the Boy’s Brigade. Great to see all the young boys helping out and making sure we all got really nice things to eat. A fantastic engagement event for all.

Next stop Girlguiding Waringstown ‘s big Coffee Morning in Queen Street Methodist, Lurgan. An amazing turn out for the girls and their guiding efforts. Well done to all involved. Thanks for the lovely welcome. Our uniformed organisations do an amazing work amongst our children and young people. We must always support and thank them for their efforts.

Saturday night was spent with the Birches Vintage Club, Country gathering in aid of the NI Children’s Hospice. Over £18,000 was raised and I pay tribute to John Wilson MBE and his team of helpers from the Birches for organising such a well attended and supported evening. Also to the volunteers at the NI Hospice who help with fundraising efforts across Northern Ireland. Everyone certainly had a great evening in the wonderful setting of the Seagoe Hotel.”
