Lockhart Launches Bible Donation Initiative for Easter Distribution in Portadown

Carla Lockhart MP • April 1, 2026

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has launched a Bible donation initiative ahead of Easter, encouraging members of the public to contribute unused Bibles for distribution in Portadown town centre.

Mrs Lockhart said the initiative has been organised in response to a desire among a small group of local Christians to share the message of the Gospel during the Easter period.

Commenting, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“As we approach Easter, a time of great significance for Christians, I am pleased to support an initiative which seeks to share God’s Word within our community.

“We are collecting Bibles to distribute in Portadown town centre over the Easter holidays, and I would encourage anyone who has Bibles at home that are no longer being used to consider donating them.

“This is a simple but meaningful way to support the work of sharing the Gospel, and I am grateful to those who have contributed in the past. Their generosity has already made a real impact.”

Donations can be dropped off at Mrs Lockhart’s constituency offices at 31–33 Queen Street, Lurgan, or at her office on the Armagh Road in Portadown.

Mrs Lockhart added:

“I am thankful in advance to all those who are able to support this initiative. I look forward to seeing how these Bibles will be used in the weeks ahead.”
