Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has praised the strong community spirit on display at a recent breakfast event held at Waringstown Cricket Club in support of Dementia NI.

Mrs Lockhart attended the event, which brought together members of the local community for a coffee morning and breakfast in aid of the charity. She commended organisers and volunteers for their efforts in hosting such a successful and worthwhile initiative.

Speaking after the visit, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“It was a pleasure to call in to Waringstown Cricket Club and see such a fantastic turnout for this event in support of Dementia NI. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it was clear that a great deal of effort had gone into organising the morning.

“Dementia is something that affects so many families across our community, and events like this not only help raise vital funds, but also raise awareness and bring people together in support of a very important cause.

“The spread provided was excellent and the facilities at the club were looking superb. It is always encouraging to see local organisations opening their doors and playing such a positive role within the community.”

Mrs Lockhart also welcomed the opportunity to meet with local people and volunteers, including well known local figure Melvyn Hamilton.

“It was lovely to catch up with so many familiar faces and to spend some time speaking with those involved. Community events like this highlight the strength of local networks and the willingness of people to step forward and support one another.”

Mrs Lockhart concluded by expressing her appreciation to all those involved.

“I want to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to making the event such a success, from the organisers and volunteers to those who attended and supported the cause. Their efforts will make a meaningful difference.”
