Exciting New Chapter for Annaghmore Men’s Shed

Carla Lockhart MP • August 20, 2025

Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart, has visited the newly secured premises of Annaghmore Men’s Shed on Tartaraghan Road, just two miles from the M1 Birches Junction. The new base provides the group with a dedicated space to continue their important work in tackling loneliness, supporting mental health, and fostering community spirit.

Speaking after the visit, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“It was a real pleasure to visit the new premises of Annaghmore Men’s Shed and to see first-hand the wonderful work being carried out. Thanks to their new lease, the group now has a place they can truly call their own a warm, welcoming hub where men and women alike can come together, support one another, and build lasting friendships.

“This is a fantastic group of people who are creating not just a shed, but a community. A special mention must go to Ian Matchett, whose vision and dedication have been central to making this project a reality. It is inspiring to see the progress made and I have no doubt there are even greater days ahead for Annaghmore Men’s Shed.”

The group is appealing for local support to help complete their disability access step, with only a small amount of concrete required to make the premises fully accessible.

Carla Lockhart added:

“I would encourage anyone who may be able to assist with this practical need to get in touch with the Men’s Shed. This small contribution will make a big difference to ensuring that the Shed is accessible to all in our community.”
