New Bus Shelter Delivered for The Hollows After Three-Year Campaign

Carla Lockhart MP • August 20, 2025

Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart, has welcomed the installation of a long-awaited bus shelter at The Hollows, following a three-year campaign supported by local residents and community groups.

Speaking after the completion of the project, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“It has been a long haul, but I am absolutely delighted that we finally have a bus shelter in place at The Hollows. This is a very welcome development for local residents, particularly our young people, and will make a real difference for those who rely on public transport in the area.

“I want to pay tribute to the Council, the Department for Infrastructure, and most importantly the local community for their support and patience throughout this process. It has taken time, but this outcome shows that persistence pays off, and it is always worth the effort when we see improvements delivered locally.”

Looking ahead, Carla Lockhart confirmed she is working to secure further bus shelters across the constituency:

“I am already progressing a number of other applications for shelters across the area. While there is a set criteria around passenger numbers and usage, I am always happy to assist communities in making the case and will continue to press for improved infrastructure wherever it is needed.”

“This is a positive outcome for The Hollows, and I look forward to seeing more improvements rolled out in the future.”
