Carla Lockhart MP Urges Public to Have Their Say on GP Access in Northern Ireland
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart is encouraging local residents to take part in an important Public Accounts Committee inquiry into access to GP services in Northern Ireland. With concerns over long waiting times, difficulties booking appointments, and delays in processing medical forms, the inquiry aims to gather public feedback to help shape improvements in general practice services.

Speaking on the issue, Carla Lockhart MP said:
"Not a day goes by without someone raising concerns with me about access to GP services. Whether it’s long waiting times, struggles getting through on the phone, or delays in signing essential medical forms, it is clear that this is an issue affecting people right across Northern Ireland.
"That is why the Public Accounts Committee is launching an inquiry into Access to General Practice in Northern Ireland, and they need to hear directly from you. Your feedback will play a key role in shaping recommendations to improve GP services, ensuring that people get the care they need, when they need it.
"The survey only takes a few minutes to complete, but it is a vital opportunity to make your voice heard on this important issue."
The inquiry is asking the public to share their experiences, including:
- How easy is it to get an appointment?
- What are the current wait times?
- Can you use an online booking system?
- Have delays impacted your health?
- Are you aware of all the services your GP provides?
Local residents are urged to complete the online survey at [https://lk.cmte.fyi/accesstogps](https://lk.cmte.fyi/accesstogps)** and ensure their views are taken into account.
Carla Lockhart added:
"GP services are a vital part of our healthcare system, and it is essential that we work together to make sure they are accessible to all. Please take a moment to fill in the survey and help drive the change needed to improve access to care.”
