Carla Lockhart MP Reappointed as Chair of the Pro-Life All-Party Parliamentary Group
Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart is honoured to have been reappointed as Chair of the Pro-Life All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) in Westminster. As a dedicated advocate for the rights of the unborn, Carla Lockhart MP remains committed to advancing life-affirming laws across Northern Ireland and the indeed the rest of the United Kingdom. She will continue to work closely with Co-Chair Baroness Eaton, Baroness Nuala O’Loan, and Mary Glindon MP, alongside colleagues from the Commons and the House of Lords, to further these vital aims.

Reflecting on her reappointment, Carla Lockhart MP said:
“I am truly honoured to once again chair the Pro-Life All-Party Parliamentary Group. This role is both a privilege and a serious responsibility as we work to uphold life-affirming laws across the United Kingdom. Protecting the unborn, the most vulnerable in our society, is a cause I hold close to my heart, and I am deeply committed to this role.
There are significant challenges ahead, with ongoing efforts to further liberalise abortion laws, including potential moves towards decriminalisation. As a group, we are prepared to stand against these changes and ensure that the voice for life is heard clearly. This new Parliament may give us the opportunity to end discrimination against babies with disabilities, amend the pills-by-post legislation to require medical assessments, and look at reducing the time limit on abortions in Great Britain.”
Carla Lockhart MP also expressed her gratitude to Right To Life UK for their unwavering support as the APPG’s secretariat and extended her thanks to her Northern Ireland colleagues for their continued backing.
She further encouraged public involvement, stating:
“Each of us can make a difference. Contact your MP when critical votes are coming up, support and pray for pro-life MPs, and be willing to help those facing crisis pregnancies. Together, we can save lives, because in every pregnancy, both lives matter.”
