Carla Lockhart MP Celebrates Book Week NI at Banbridge Library

Carla Lockhart MP • November 5, 2024

Carla Lockhart MP joined in the celebrations for Book Week NI with a visit to Banbridge Library, marking the annual event that champions the joy and value of reading across Northern Ireland. Organised by Libraries NI and BBC Northern Ireland, Book Week NI encourages people of all ages to discover or rekindle their love for books.

Reflecting on the visit, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“It was a pleasure to join the Banbridge community at our local library to celebrate Book Week NI. Libraries are such important spaces for learning, imagination, and connection, and it was inspiring to see so many people taking part in this year’s events. Reading opens up worlds of opportunity, whether for young children just discovering books or adults who find knowledge and enjoyment through reading.

A huge thank you to Libraries NI and everyone at Banbridge Library for their warm welcome and for creating a wonderful programme of activities. I encourage everyone to support their local library—not only during Book Week NI but all year round.”
