Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart has enjoyed a memorable afternoon with the Donaghcloney RBL community, supporting the Poppy Appeal and much-needed renovations at the Royal British Legion hall. The event brought together friends and neighbours for delicious food, arts and crafts, and a colouring competition for the kids.  It was organised to help raise vital funds for the poppy appeal and the renovation of the hall.

Reflecting on the day, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“It was an absolute pleasure to join with friends at Donaghcloney Royal British Legion Hall on Saturday in support of their RBL Poppy Appeal and the renovation plans for the Legion Hall.  The community of Donaghcloney truly embodies generosity and dedication, and the craft fair and coffee afternoon was a wonderful example of that spirit. From creative arts displays to delicious treats and family activities, the event showed the commitment of everyone to honouring our veterans and safeguarding this space for future generations.

My heartfelt thanks to Richard, the Poppy co-ordinator and his team, and all those at the Legion and Community Garden for their hard work in making the day such a success.  Special mention of Mrs Helen Wilson who goes over and above in her capacity as Chair of the Donaghcloney Branch.  Helen who is ex-service has a real passion for veterans and those who continue to serve King and country.”
