MP Highlights Changes to Post Office Services in Upper Bann

Carla Lockhart MP • February 11, 2025

Carla Lockhart MP has welcomed the opening of two new "Drop & Collect" Post Office branches in Banbridge and Lurgan, providing greater convenience for parcel collections, returns, and bill payments. However, she has also stressed the importance of maintaining full Post Office services for the local community.

From Friday 7th March 2025 at 1pm, the new branches will be located at:

 Banbridge – VivoXtra, 12 Newry Road, BT32 3HN

 Lurgan – Circle K - Silverwood Service Station, 62 Silverwood Road, BT66 6LE

These branches will offer essential Post Office services but will not provide personal or business banking facilities.

Speaking on the issue Carla Lockhart MP said,

“It is positive to see these new ‘Drop & Collect’ branches opening, ensuring that local residents continue to have access to key Post Office services. The convenience of parcel collection, returns, and bill payments is important for many people, particularly as online shopping continues to grow.

“However, I recognise concerns about the lack of banking services at these locations. Accessible and comprehensive Post Office facilities remain essential, especially for those who rely on them for their day-to-day financial transactions.

“I encourage local residents to engage with the consultation process and share their views. I will continue to monitor these changes closely to ensure our community’s needs are met.”
