Death of HM Queen Elizabeth II

Commenting on the death of the Queen, Upper Bann Member of Parliament Carla Lockhart said:

“Across Upper Bann there is a great outpouring of grief and sorrow at the passing of a much loved and cherished Monarch. Our hearts are aching at such profound loss, yet we know that for His Majesty King Charles III and the Royal Family we know that the loss of a mother, grandmother and great grand mother is seismic.

Over recent months communities here have joined together with people across the U.K. and Commonwealth in celebration of the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen. These events where manifestations of the love and affection for her late Majesty. Today, in this time of national mourning, those same communities shed tears at the end of a life well lived, that exemplified service and duty. A noble and gracious lady who will forever be in our hearts, and whose reign will surely be remembered as the greatest of all.

We thank God for her life, and her legacy. For seventy years we have prayed God Save The Queen, and we thank Almighty God for answered prayers.

In the days ahead we pray that His Majesty King Charles III will know God’s presence near to him, to give him strength and wisdom for the future. We trust that he will know the love of his people, and we wish him a long, happy and successful reign.
