Clounagh providing first class education for all

Carla Lockhart MP • February 14, 2023

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart recently met with the Principal of Clounagh Junior High, Mr Hill, to discuss a range of issues impacting upon the provision of education in the school, and across schools in Northern Ireland.

Carla Lockhart said:

“It was lovely to meet with Mr Hill, Principal of Clounagh Junior High School to discuss the ongoing issues in education and how the school is continuing to rise to these challenges and continue to provide a first class learning environment with very positive outcomes.

Mr Hill along with his very dedicated team of staff, teaching and non-teaching, put their heart and soul into providing young people a quality education which motivates and stimulates pupils to achieve. It is always good to see schools advancing and we look forward to the much needed investment into the school estate here at Clounagh Junior High, including superb new sporting facilities and this help provide the space to develop sporting excellence.

It was particularly interesting to discuss the schools provision for those pupils with special educational needs, and how their learning support units are making a real difference. We need to see greater investment in this area of education and I will continue to champion for this to be prioritised.”
