Carla Lockhart MP Joins Special Memorial Walk in Honour of Adam Watson

Carla Lockhart MP • August 5, 2025

Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart has joined David and Sara Watson, along with a large gathering of friends and supporters, for a special memorial walk at Craigavon Lakes in memory of their much loved wee boy, Adam, and in support of his legacy charity, B Positive.

Marking exactly three years since Adam’s passing, the event brought the community together for a single, meaningful lap of the lake. This was a gentle change from the 24-hour walk format held in previous years, but no less powerful in purpose. It was a time of reflection, remembrance, and renewed commitment to the cause Adam inspired.

Speaking after the event, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“Walking today at Craigavon Lakes wasn’t just about steps it was about remembering a little boy whose light continues to shine. Adam will forever be 9, but through the work of B-Positive, his legacy is reaching and helping so many others.

This year’s walk was different with just one lap, rather than the 24-hour walk of previous years, but the love and meaning behind it were just as strong. Sometimes, it’s not about the miles covered, but the hearts touched.

David and Sara are two of the strongest, most courageous people I know. Their unwavering faith and commitment to honouring Adam’s memory is an inspiration to us all.

Adam had a great childlike, christian faith and knowing he is now in Heaven, free from pain, treatment, and suffering, is a truth that brings comfort amidst grief.

As ever, I stand with David and Sara in continuing the fight for better treatments, more research, and ultimately, a cure for leukaemia.

It was also heartening to see familiar faces like Tim Webb from Webbers Wheels, and wee miracle man Blake showing their support. The community spirit around Adam’s story remains strong.

May Adam’s legacy continue to be a light in the darkness, and may we all continue to support the ongoing work of B Positive.”
