Carla Lockhart MP • August 5, 2025

Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart has congratulated Clogher Protestant Boys Flute Band on delivering a fantastic day of cultural celebration in Waringstown, with both their well-attended Big Breakfast in Clogher Orange Hall and impressive evening parade drawing large crowds from across the community.

The annual event once again brought the streets of Waringstown to life, with a fantastic turnout of bands and spectators enjoying a vibrant evening of music and tradition. Earlier in the day, the band hosted a lively and well-supported Big Breakfast event which proved to be a great success in its own right.

Speaking after attending both events, Carla Lockhart MP said:

“Congratulations to Clogher Protestant Boys Flute Band on organising such a superb day of cultural celebration in Waringstown. From the early morning Big Breakfast right through to the evening parade, it was a real showcase of community spirit, tradition, and culture.

The Big Breakfast was a great success with a brilliant turnout. Well done to everyone involved in preparing, serving, and making everyone feel so welcome. It was a pleasure to support the band and the wider community at both events.

The evening parade was equally impressive the streets were packed, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the number and standard of bands on display was something to be proud of. Events like these are a real highlight in our local calendar and reflect the rich cultural heritage we are fortunate to enjoy.

It was also a real pleasure to meet up with Colin Ward, Drum Major of Skeogh Flute Band, and recently elected Northern Ireland Chairperson of the Royal British Legion. I want to warmly congratulate Colin on his appointment and wish him every success in this important and respected role.”
