Birches Vintage Day a big success

Carla Lockhart MP • July 9, 2025

Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart, has praised the success of the Birches Vintage and Classic Car Club’s Annual Vintage Day, describing it as a fantastic community event that continues to go from strength to strength.

Attending the event over the weekend, the DUP MP took the opportunity to meet with organisers, stallholders, and supporters, and to express her thanks to all involved in delivering a day of nostalgia, community spirit, and charitable giving.

Speaking following the event, Carla Lockhart said:

“The Birches Vintage Day is one of those special events that truly brings the community together. It was a real pleasure to be invited once again, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the one and only John Wilson, whose heart and soul go into making this day such a success.

From the impressive display of vintage vehicles, cars, motorbikes, tractors, and more, to the atmosphere created by local stalls, volunteers, and visitors, this was a truly memorable occasion. The passion and pride of the Birches Vintage and Classic Car Club is evident in every aspect of the event.”

Carla Lockhart also welcomed the charitable focus of the day, noting the presence of several important organisations:

“It was great to see charities like the Samaritans and the Northern Ireland Hospice represented at the event and benefiting from the generosity of those attending. This community always rallies behind good causes, and the fundraising element of the Vintage Day makes it all the more meaningful.

Events like this don’t just happen, they are the result of hours of planning, hard work, and dedication from volunteers. The Birches Vintage and Classic Car Club deserve huge credit, and I want to thank each and every person involved. This is a day that brings joy, supports worthy causes, and celebrates the rich heritage of our community.”

The Birches Vintage Day continues to grow in popularity, with visitors travelling from across the region to enjoy a unique family day out steeped in local pride and vintage charm.
