Carla Lockhart MP • September 25, 2024

Upper Bann MP, Carla Lockhart, has praised the Star of David Accordion Band for their heartfelt tribute to two beloved community members, Arlene and David McKeown. The unveiling of a special banneret in their honour was a touching moment during the Band’s first Annual Parade. Arlene and David hold a special place in the hearts of many but none more so than the band. David was a member for many many years and played a key roll in its formation and growth.

Speaking, Carla said:

“What a lovely tribute by the Star of David Accordion Band to two of the most loyal people I have had the privilege of knowing. The banneret is a truly fitting memorial that will ensure Arlene and David’s legacy lives on in the hearts of our community.

Congratulations to the Band on their first Annual Parade! This will be the start of a wonderful tradition. You are a credit to our community.”

The parade marked a significant milestone for the Band, bringing together locals in a display of unity, respect, and tradition. Ms Lockhart also expressed her hope that the event will grow in years to come.
