Tandragee Road update

Carla Lockhart MP • August 9, 2022

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has continued to engage with those undertaking roadworks on Tandragee Road, Portadown, to ensure the concerns of residents and local businesses are alleviated as soon as possible.

Providing an update on the engagement, Carla said:

“Following my meeting with Firmus Gas, Department for Infrastructure representatives and the contractors on site on Friday 29th July, I have continued to engage with Firmus Gas on behalf of the local community.

I am delighted that further to the meeting, progress has been made. In their most recent update, Firmus has confirmed that the new pipe has now been laid under the archway, and that in around seven days (Friday 12th) the road closure will be able to be lifted. This will allow traffic to flow again on the road, albeit with traffic light management in place.

This is good news for residents and local businesses for whom the diversion in place has caused huge inconvenience. I will continue to engage with all parties, and I would again ask any resident or business that may have specific concerns to get in touch and I would be only too happy to address these with Firmus.”
