SAFETY ASSESSMENT REQUESTED AT MOYGANNON ROAD JUNCTION

DUP MP Carla Lockhart and Cllr Mark Baxter have called on the Department for infrastructure to urgently carry out a safety assessment at the Moygannon Road/Banbridge Road junction. This is following a number of accidents in the vicinity and daily near misses.
Speaking on the issue the DUP pair said, “this junction has been problematic for many years with numerous accidents at it and daily near misses. Having spoken to a number of local people they have all raised concerns stating the dangers that exist when using this junction. The Banbridge Road is a busy road and therefore it is important that all roads entering and exiting it are safe for users.
We have requested an urgent safety assessment particularly the alignment. We look forward to receiving a response to our request.”
