New dropped kerbs for Banbridge welcomed by MP

Carla Lockhart MP • February 7, 2023

Local Member of Parliament Carla Lockhart has said the decision by the Department for Infrastructure to provide an additional three dropped kerbs in various locations in Banbridge will be welcomed by those with mobility issues.

Confirming the new locations, the DUP MP said:

“Over recent times I have been working with some constituents in Banbridge who have a range of mobility issues, and for whom it is vitally important they can move independently from A to B.

Often the lack of dropped kerbs can impair this independent movement. Having identified a number of sites of concern, I raised this with the Department for Infrastructure and I am delighted that we now have confirmation of the installation of new dropped kerbs at the following sites: Peggy’s Loaning, Entrance to Brookfield Industrial area, Entrance of Edenderry Park.

This is a very positive outcome to my representations. I will be providing some further information in relation to timescales in due course. In the meantime, we can be assured these works will be completed and I know it will make a big difference to those local people who need these dropped kerbs daily.”
