MP enjoys Glenavon Golf Classic

Carla Lockhart MP • August 1, 2023

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has commended all those involved in organising Friday’s Glenavon FC Golf Classic, held at Lurgan Golf Club. The DUP representative sponsored a hole at the event, which was to raise funds for Glenavon Football Club.

Speaking at the event, Carla Lockhart said:

“The new football season is upon us, and whilst a lot of the focus will be on the senior football team it is worth remembering that Glenavon do a huge amount of work across all ages, boys and girls, of all abilities.

Hundreds of kids and young people play at the Club, and the amount of volunteer time and money that is required is significant to deliver the high standard of football experience Glenavon Football Club provide.

Todays Golf Classic has been very successful in raising funds for the Club, whilst giving everyone taking part a very enjoyable day out. I was happy to join others in sponsoring a hole, and I know the funds raised will be poured back into the Club for the benefit of the community who are either part of the club, or support the club.

I wish everyone at Glenavon FC well for the season ahead and brings a great amount of success across the entire range of teams.”
