Lockhart congratulates new Edenderry PS Councillors

Carla Lockhart MP • November 28, 2023

Local MP Carla Lockhart called in to Edenderry PS last week to congratulate the newly elected School Council. The DUP representative spent time talking to the pupils and hearing all about their plans for the new year.

Carla Lockhart said:

“It was a real honour to attend Edenderry Primary School’s Assembly, and announcing the successful candidates for their new School Council. It was great to speak to the kids about the importance of elections and councils and to reveal the chosen representatives from each class.

School Councils are a great way to introduce children to the whole idea of democracy – voting, elections, pledges and then delivering those pledges. Certainly those elected here at Edenderry PS are an impressive group and they have a real passion and determination to do their best by those who voted for them. That is the key to a good representative.

I would commend the school for promoting their school council so effectively and wish the 2023-2024 Council every success for the year ahead.”
