Upper Bann Member of Parliament Carla Lockhart has congratulated the players and coaching staff of Banbridge High School Under 16 Girls team, who won the High School Cup last week.

The DUP representative said:

“This is a fantastic achievement for the girls and I want to pass on my warmest congratulations to the team for such a wonderful victory.

A huge amount of work goes into making an effective and successful team and it is a credit to the girls and the coaching staff that they have lifted the High School Cup. It is also great fun and shows the potential for those who get involved in sports as they progress through school.

The future is certainly bright for these girls as they progress in their hockey careers and I trust that many will go on to play at senior level. “
