Carla Lockhart MP Welcomes New Cancer Support Group in Banbridge

Carla Lockhart MP has warmly welcomed the launch of a new cancer support group in Banbridge. Backed by Banbridge Group Surgerys’ Multi-Disciplinary and Social Work teams, the group will be led by Social Work Assistant Veronica Kerr and breast cancer survivor Angela Taylor. 

"‘I was deeply inspired and humbled listening to Angela tell me about her journey with cancer. I applaud her and Veronica’s Kerr’s drive to make sure no-one faces cancer alone" said Lockhart. "It has been an aim of mine since becoming elected to help and support those diagnosed with cancer and to press for further investment into research and support for those affected.  I fully support this initiative and its mission to provide comfort to those facing one of life’s toughest battles."


The group will meet at Banbridge Old Town Hall on Scarva Street on the following times: 


10am-12pm on 14 August, 11 September, 9 October, 6 November and 4 December


6.30pm-8.30pm on 28 August, 15 September, 23 October, 20 November and 18 December.



Carla has encouraged those in need of support to join the sessions and commends the inspiring work of the group’s leaders. "This group is a testament to our community's strength and commitment to ensuring no one faces cancer alone.If you need to talk to someone about your battle with cancer then this is a friendly group with people who speak from experience.  I look forward to working with the group in the coming weeks and months.  Angela is an inspiration and it was a pleasure to meet her and learn of her battle and the love she has for others on this journey.”
