Carla Lockhart MP congratulates Portadown veteran Joe Robson on remarkable 72-hour Armed Forces Week challenge
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has congratulated Portadown veteran Joe Robson on completing an extraordinary 72-hour sit-out during Armed Forces Week, raising vital funds for Help for Heroes and shining a spotlight on the sacrifices made by those who have served.

Mrs Lockhart visited Joe during his challenge in Portadown and praised his determination, resilience and unwavering commitment to supporting fellow veterans.
Speaking afterwards, Carla Lockhart MP said:
“Joe’s 72-hour sit-out in Portadown was nothing short of remarkable. Having served in the Armed Forces himself, he understands the challenges many veterans face and continues to dedicate his time and energy to supporting those who have worn our country’s uniform."
“To extend an already gruelling challenge from 48 hours to 72 hours, particularly in the heat, demonstrates tremendous determination and selflessness. When I visited Joe, despite everything he had endured, he was still smiling and in great spirits."
“Joe is a credit to himself, to Regenerate Veterans Group and to the wider veteran community. They say not all heroes wear capes, and Joe is living proof of that."
“The funds raised through this challenge will make a real difference to veterans through Help for Heroes, and I would encourage anyone who is able to support this fantastic cause."
“As we marked Armed Forces Week, Joe’s challenge served as a powerful reminder of the courage, sacrifice and commitment of those who have served our country. He has made Portadown and the wider Upper Bann community immensely proud, and I congratulate him on this outstanding achievement.”
Mrs Lockhart also paid tribute to Regenerate Veterans Group for the invaluable support it provides to veterans and their families, describing the organisation as an outstanding example of veterans supporting veterans and serving the wider community.
