Banbridge legend Reg still going strong

Carla Lockhart MP • August 29, 2023

Local MP Carla Lockhart recently called with well know Banbridge resident Reg Anderson, author of ‘Down Memory Lane’, following a recent fall.

Speaking after the visit, the DUP representative said:

“Reg is so well known and respected in Banbridge. At the age of 91 years young, he has a wealth of stories to tell, and still enjoys that time to reminisce over a cup of tea with anyone who calls to see him. It is an education, and a real delight, to spend time with Reg.

Recently sadly he had a little fall, but I am delighted that he is on the mend and still full of chat and stories of days gone by in Banbridge. We ought to cherish these residents who can bring so much understanding and background to our community, such is their knowledge and love for the area.

Reg’s book ‘Down Memory Lane’ is still available and it is a lovely collection of his own recollections throughout his life. It is well worth a read.

I wish Reg well for his ongoing recovery and know that he will keep sharing glimpses into the past of life in Banbridge.”
